Allen B. Day

Private First Class Allen B. Day was called into service with the United States Army Air Force upon his graduation from high school, although he initially enlisted 3 months prior to graduating. As part of a battalion of 17-year olds in the Army Specialization Training Reserve Program, he attended the University of Buffalo for five months, while waiting for active service. Allen was discharged from the Army in May, 1945 and enlisted in the Marnie Corps in June, 1945 at Parris Island, SC with the 295th Platoon, 6th Battalion. He was later transferred to Camp Pendleton, CA.
