Staff Sergeant Frank Dolny was employed by the Dzus Fastener Co prior to his enlistment in the Army Air Corps. Following basic training, he was stationed at Hammer Field, Fresno, CA. Frank was assigned to the European Theatre and served in England, France, and Germany as an airplane mechanic. He is the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal at ceremonies in the Assembly Area Command in France. Frank was honorably discharged in 1945 at Fort Dix, NJ.
