Pharmacist Mate Second Class Joan DeMott became a WAVE, training at Hunter College, NY before being stationed at the US Naval Hospital in Long Beach, CA. She received her rating of Pharmacist Mate Third Class and was transferred to the US Naval Hospital, Corona, CA. She received her promotion to Pharmacist Mate Second Class, serving until she was honorably discharged from the WAVES in June, 1944.
