Private First Class Maynard L. Allen, Jr completed basic training at Drew Field, FL and was assigned to duty with the 707 Signal Army Corps in the Aleutian Islands. Maynard received special training with the Air Force Power Plant School at Anchorage, Alaska, eventually serving at the Diesel Power Plant as a mechanic and operator. After receiving sufficient points, he was discharged in November 1945 at Fort Dix, NJ
